Inside LockWood


In a previous Issue of Avakin Weekly we got to speak with LKWD Jessica and LKWD Joel about the history of how Avakin came to life.

LKWD JOEL(One Of The Founders Of LockWood):

We started looking into doing our own virtual world in 2009. That was before Unity(3D game engine) so it was going to be 2D, however only one person was working on it so it didnt go anywhere.

We deided to use a tech we had and wanted to make a music managament game and started something called mixm8. You can still see the old website www.mixm8.com It was hard to get copy rights for music so we decided to focus on PS home.

Mixm8 got us a PlayStation Vita(playstation hand held) game which we worked on for awhile. We decided to create Avakin through Unity as we had concerns that PS home might not be around forever.
